The announcement comes just ahead of Apple's developer conference, which starts Monday - the same conference in which Apple first announced the speaker a year ago.

Even if users click to share an item, they will be prompted with an option to prevent subsequent tracking.

Apple software SVP Craig Federighi demonstrates new Siri features at Apple WWDC 2018.

A majority of the iOS 12 updates surround fixing the bugs of its previous mobile software, iOS 11, which was introduced in September.

Dunn said the updates are "welcome" but said they don't "change anything about the casino environment - which offers no protection from the products which are engineered for dependency - and the business objectives of the company, which are to sell more devices and apps". Digital Health will be available on the next version of the iOS, rumored to be called iOS 12. "If developers add Siri shortcuts to their existing iOS apps, the quantity and quality of voice-enabled apps for the Apple ecosystem - including iPhone, CarPlay, Apple Watch and HomePod - will greatly increase". If you order coffee through an app every morning, Siri might serve up a notification on your home screen to send your coffee order.

"It will become dramatically more hard for data companies to identify your device and track you", Federighi said. But that limit highlights a selling point Apple could use in the enterprise.

Voice assistant Siri will get a feature called Shortcuts that works with a wider variety of apps and lets users program a routine like "going to work" that will provide a traffic report and turn on pre-selected music or news broadcasts.

Facebook said it "disagreed" with the report and that the agreements with device makers were far different from those with third-party developers including one which shared data with the political firm Cambridge Analytica. "If Apple has major improvements to Siri in its labs, it did not show them off today". Third-party apps will now be able to let users invoke Siri for commonly used tasks, much the way competing assistants from Google and Amazon long have.

That phrase, for example, can be set to open Apple Maps to find the best route home and launch a radio app.

The photos app will become more dynamic, offering search suggestions such as "hiking" and categorising events by place and time, with a separate "For You" tab offering suggestions for edits or people you may want to share images.

The most annoying thing that big tech companies such as Apple have to deal with is leaked information.

Now FaceTime can add up to 32 simultaneous participants, though that would be one unwieldy conference call.
