Details of Harry Kane's new deal at Tottenham revealed

It is another huge show of commitment from a titanic figure at the club.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has advised star man Harry Kane to join Real Madrid or Barcelona, should the Spanish giants come calling.

Kane scored 41 goals in all competitions last season, as they secured a top-four finish for the third successive season.

Harry Winks, Davinson Sanchez, Kyle Walker-Peters and Kane have committed their allegiance to Spurs, and the future has never looked so bright.

Kane was last month named England captain for the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup.

In short, he is worth his weight in gold - although he is not quite as heavy as Federation Internationale de Football Association have suggested. Indeed, the same has been true of the squad as a whole for a number of years.

Despite overtaking their North London rivals in recent years and becoming a regular feature in the Champions League, without silverware, Adams isn't having it; "You must be able to handle winning emotionally and mentally, and if they don't know how to win it, they aren't going to win it".

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has already signed a new long-term contract while there is an ambition to extend the deals of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen before the start of next season.

That's a almost 100 per cent hike from his previous deal and the fact that the notoriously tight-fisted North Londoners have broken their strict wage structure suggests a few more players could sign across the dotted line in the coming weeks.

"We are delighted to announce that Harry Kane has signed a new six-year contract with the Club, which will run until 2024", read a statement from Spurs on their website. Money has never seemed to be his primary motivation.

First and foremost, Kane's new contract is a strong indicator of Spurs' lofty aspirations.

Both have deals that expire in 2019 and have struggled to agree terms with Tottenham chiefs.

One of those record attempts would be ended if Kane left North London, and both would be scuppered if he moved overseas. For me personally, though, I just want to improve.

Many doubted Kane would make it at the top level.

Friday's announcement certainly seems financially significant, hinting at a narrowing of the gap between Spurs' salaries and their rivals.

Secondly, and just as importantly, Levy will nearly assuredly pay his other élite players the salaries they so clearly deserve.
