Perhaps indicative of how she is learning the royal ropes, at one point Meghan appeared confused over who should enter the royal vehicle first and resorted to asking the queen what her preference would be.

The newest member of the royals, who has been given the title of Duchess of Sussex, visited Cheshire today alongside the Queen.

It was a decidedly more conservative choice than Meghan's outfit last weekend, when she wore a fitted pink number that showed off her bare shoulders as she joined the Royal family at Buckingham Palace for Trooping the Colour.

While the majority of us just want to get 2018 over with as soon as possible, there are some *cough, cough Meghan Markle* who are absolutely thriving in this train wreck of a year.

It's the first time the pair has embarked on a royal engagement without Markle's husband, Prince Harry, by her side since the royal wedding in May.

And Meghan's look on her big day was praised by many, including fashionable socialite Paris Hilton.

We're looking forward to hearing all about Meghan's work with the rest of the young royals in future.

"'With so much bonding time at Meghan and the Queen's disposal, what will the new royal and head of the monarchy talk about?" the tabloid speculated.

Princess Kate accompanied Queen Elizabeth during her Diamond Jubilee tour for her first solo visit in March 2012, almost 10 months after her April 2011 marriage to Prince William. "It looks like she is rather distracted by his interest, information and conversation than anything to do with the queen".
