Soccer fans took to social media with pride following the quake detection.

Seismic monitoring agency Simmsa said it was caused "possibly by massive jumps during the goal ... of Mexico in the World Cup".

The outstanding Hirving Lozano smashed home the Mexican victor in the 35th minute at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, leaving Manuel Neuer clutching at thin air on his return to the German goal after a nine-month injury absence.

Federation Internationale de Football Association said on Sunday it was looking into reports of alleged homophobic chants by Mexico fans during their country's 1-0 World Cup win against Germany at Moscow's Luzhniki stadium.

But despite nearly constant pressure, they were largely kept at long range, and their poor finishing rarely threatened Ochoa as Mexico held out for only their second victory against the Germans in 12 attempts.

Their next game is against South Korea on Saturday 23 June, and then against Sweden on Wednesday 27 June. I thought we would not have a chance.
