Previous Lloris urges Pogba to be France's 'leader'

The Manchester United midfielder was whistled by some fans when he was substituted during the 3-1 win over Italy on Friday, prompting Deschamps to jump to his defence.

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has told Paul Pogba that he is "expected" to be a leader for France in Russian Federation this summer.

The football world is wondering what lies in store for Zinedine Zidane after he resigned from Real Madrid and many believe he'll coach France one day, including Didier Deschamps.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has suggested that Paul Pogba must show his leadership qualities for France at this summer's World Cup.

However having joined Manchester United in 2016 for a then World Record fee of £89 million, much is expected of Paul Pogba, both for club and country. It had already happened.

Meanwhile, attacker Antoine Griezmann, who found the net against the Azzurri, said: "We're on the right track, we won, but we've still got lots of things to work on and to learn".

"He had a good game, but I know people always expect him to do something extraordinary, but with Pogba whatever he does, they'll always say he has to do more".

And star striker Antoine Griezmann also supported the United midfielder, saying: 'The whistles are part of football, you have to stay tough mentally.

Pogba had a forgettable night on the pitch.

'He has had a hard season at Manchester United but he has a lot of confidence in himself'.

"Paul is no longer a young player", Lloris told the press, according to Goal.

"Personally, when you witness this kind of whistling - and I also noticed some for Florian Thauvin - it's exasperating, it annoys me", the Bayern Munich player said.

Les Bleus, who take on Australia, Peru and Denmark in Group C in Russian Federation this month, finish their preparations for the World Cup with a friendly against the United States in Lyon on Saturday.
