Roseanne Barr 'begged' ABC for job back; new music; NOFX apologizes; more

Gilbert was one of a number of actors involved in the show to condemn Barr's comments about Jarrett, describing them as "abhorent". "Do you think your career has taken a big hit?" As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the actress claimed that she had "begged" the network not to cancel the show, but was rebuffed.

"I begged Ben Sherwood at ABC to let me apologize and make amends", Barr wrote in the since-deleted post.

He tweeted at Barr that he could offer her a platform without the networks and executives that fired her. "Let your fans decide", he tweeted.

"This is incredibly sad and hard for all of us, as we've created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love- one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member".

She added, "Tomorrow is Shabbat (the Jewish Sabbath) and I will continue to pray that everything for everyone goes forward & ends well for all. signing off twitter for a while. love u guys!"

But any potential deal is complicated by Barr's business relationship with Casey Warner, CNN say, and depending on the terms of her contract producers may have to buy out her stake in the show. I told them I was willing to do anything and asked for help in making things right. I'd worked doing publicity4 them 4free for weeks, traveling, thru bronchitis.

ABC also will not bring back the show for a second season, despite plans to do so. "Roseanne" has killed off cast members before - Goodman's Dan Conner was revealed to have died in the original series finale - so why not kill off the matriarch and keep it going?

Along with other celebs, she made her disappointment with Barr's actions known through Twitter.

Last month, Barr tweeted the initials "vj" and the words: "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby". "Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste".
