Tributes pour in for Kate Spade

Kate Spade launched a New York-based company, Kate Spade Handbags, in January 1993 with her husband Andy Spade.

David Spade has taken to his social networking sites to remember his sister-in-law Kate Spade after she was found dead at her home in NY this week in a suspected suicide.

In earlier remarks to the Kansas City Star, she said that her sister was gripped by Robin Williams' suicide and that she believed her suicidal thoughts started when he took his own life in 2014.

Another Instagram fan of Ivanka's wrote: "Very sad". Precious in every aspect, just dear- but she was surrounded by YES people, for far too long, therefore she did not receive the proper care for what I believed to be (and tried numerous times to get her help for) Bipolar disorder... stemming from her huge celebrity.

The New York City chief medical examiner's office said the cause of Spade's death was under investigation. Andy was reportedly at the home when Kate's body was discovered but it is unclear how long he had been there. Spade also leaves behind their daughter, Frances Beatrix Spade.

"Kate Spade's tragic passing is a painful reminder that we never truly know another's pain or the burden they carry". In 2016 Spade moved to set up a new handbag company, Frances Valentine. "I don't think it ever technically fell apart, but I think they were living apart".

Roldan is pursuing a career in fashion and said Spade mentored him.

Kate's suicide note may indicate that her split from Andy was one reason that she took her own life.

"I, personally - I don't know about Andy - took off a good nine years raising my daughter, and absolutely adored every moment of it", she said.

In a statement Tuesday, a rep for the brand-which Spade sold a majority share of to Neiman Marcus back in 1999-said their founder would be "dearly missed".

"She was a great talent who had an immeasurable impact on American fashion and the way the world viewed American accessories", the statement said. She was trying to convince her sister to seek treatment. They didn't spend a lot of time together. "And I just went 'What?'..."

"Sometimes you simply can not SAVE people from themselves!"

Some of those paying tribute to Spade recalled their first experience with the brand, once perceived to be a status-symbol.

"Fuzzy picture but I love it. Kate and I during Christmas family photos". So pretty.... It's a rough world out there people. "Try to hang on".
