Trump Commutes Sentence of Drug Offender Championed by Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is opening up for the first time about her meeting with President Trump, who later commuted the life sentence that first-time, non-violent drug offender Alice Marie Johnson was serving in prison.

"I just got off the most wonderful, emotional and fantastic phone call with Alice, Kim and Alice's lawyers", Holley shared.

Johnson was sentenced to life after she was convicted on charges of conspiracy to possess cocaine and attempted possession of cocaine in 1996.

Alice Johnson was released from federal prison hours after Mr. Trump's order, with footage showing her running toward her family, throwing her arms open wide and embracing them in front of a crowd.

Waleed Aly slammed Kim Kardashian's involvement in Alice Marie Johnson's pardon.

Later that day, Johnson was released and reunited with her family.

"I had no idea that I was even facing a sentence like that because truly I felt that people who got life without parole had committed the most heinous crimes".

Now she is back with her family.

Kim Kardashian asked and President Trump answered.

The President is still considering pardoning lifestyle maven Martha Stewart, who was convicted in an insider trading case, and commuting the sentence of former IL governor Rod Blagojevich, now serving a 14-year prison sentence on felony corruption charges, along with several others, the White House official told Reuters. "And I had been in communication with Jared [Kushner] so I was feeling things were looking really positive".

"She's actually achieved nothing", he said on The Project on Thursday night. "It's hard to imagine that I have now served 20 years of my life sentence for that one mistake".

"If you've noticed, I keep touching her because it's hard to believe she's actually here", said Catina Scales, Johnson's daughter.

Kardashian West overnight tweeted the news, saying "BEST NEWS EVER!". Trump previously issued clemency to former sheriff Joe Arpaio, Scooter Libby, Navy sailor Kristian Saucier, boxing champion Jack Johnson, and right-wing pundit Dinesh D'Souza. "Her commutation is inspirational & gives hope to so many others who are deserving of a second chance", she said in the tweet.

"I just knew him from "The Apprentice" and other things and he was amusing to me", Johnson said.
