Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin Have Awkward Exchange Before Panthers-Bills Preseason Game

The Carolina Panthers are kicking off their preseason with a visit to the Buffalo Bills, a game that reunited Benjamin, the former Panthers receiver now playing in Buffalo, with his old quarterback in Newton. A first-round pick by the Panthers in 2014, Benjamin was traded to the Bills midway through last season for a pair of draft picks.

Now, it was time to face said quarterback and this is how it went down. I don't know, man ...

"If you would've put me with any other quarterback, let's be real, you know what I'm saying?"

Kelvin Benjamin just brushed off Cam Newton like a defensive back. leaving Cam hanging on a high five and exchanging heated words with the QB - and it's all on video.

During warm-ups, Newton approached Benjamin on the field and started talking with him. Newton apparently wanted to discuss. Benjamin didn't appear to want to have much of a conversation. This was not one of them.

Benjamin had been pretty critical of the Panthers star in a recent interview.

"I just think Carolina was bad for me", Benjamin told The Athletic. Charlotte NBC News anchor Nick Carboni posted Benjamin's ripping of Newton on Twitter.

Cam Newton and Kelvin Benjamin did not sort out their disagreement on Thursday.
