Everton sign Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Bernard

The Toffees were not finished there as Barcelona confirmed the Toffees had signed both Mina and Gomes.

Everton have had a busy final day of the English transfer window, completing the triple signing of Bernard, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

The defender will leave Camp Nou despite only joining in January, but the Catalan side have included a buy-back option in the deal.

During negotiations for Mina, Everton were offered Gomes on a season-long loan, the Portugal midfielder having struggled at Barcelona since his €35m (£31.5m) arrival from Valencia two years ago. I know about Everton's players and I look forward to being able to play with my new team.

The 23-year-old Mina, who was impressive in defence at this year's World Cup in Russian Federation where he also scored three goals, will rejuvenate an ageing Everton back line while offering a threat from set-pieces at the other end of the pitch.

However, Manchester United were put off by the excessive demands made by the player's agents, which ultimately resulted in them pulling the plug on the move.

"I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about Marco Silva and after speaking to him I was happy with what he said to me", he told evertontv.

"Every discussion we've had was very important in making me feel his confidence about my game".

After penning his deal, Mina revealed a Premier League move was impossible to resist and wants to help Everton progress under new manager Marco Silva.

"I have spoken a lot to the coach and I know his passion for Everton and determination to be successful".
