The Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew gets a major flavor and texture boost from almond butter and holds together a bit longer.

Starbucks' new additions are part of a growing trend among American consumers who recognize we can not survive our work mornings on sugar and willpower alone. The Almond blended drink will also add almond butter and almond milk, and the Cacao blend will include coconut milk and cacao powder.

Only available in a Grande size, the Protein Blended Cold Brew drinks are available in Almond and Cacao, and are called the Starbucks Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew and the Starbucks Cacao Protein Blended Cold Brew.

The Cacao beverage is blended with Cold Brew, coconutmilk, plant-based protein, cacao powder, banana date fruit blend and ice.

The company is introducing a protein blended cold brew. The new beverages are offered in Almond and Cacao and are available at participating Starbucks stores across the U.S and on Mobile Order & Pay while supplies last. It has 12 grams of protein.

Instead of Banana Date Fruit Blend try swapping it with a whole banana.

Also, this drink could be a way to just have coffee in the morning but still have a side of nutrition.

Since the use of refined sugar can be a debated food topic, it is interesting that Starbucks is choosing a fruit based sweetener to add the sugariness to this cold drink.

Add an extra packet of protein powder to up the protein consumption.
