Slain mum was to have gender reveal party this weekend

We learned Thursday evening that authorities had tragically found what the believed to be the bodies of 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste Watts at a property belonging to Anadarko Petroleum, their dad's now-former employer.

The motion filed Friday by Christopher Watts' attorney, James Merson, also asked that DNA swabs be taken from the girls' necks.

Prosecutors said that Christopher Watts is being held in protective custody because of the publicity surrounding the case.

Authorities are expected to file formal charged against Watts, who worked as an oil and gas worker.

The BBC reported on Friday that the bodies were found inside oil and gas tanks on the oil company's premises.

Richard Eikelenboom, the expert cited by Watts' attorney, also recommended taking DNA samples from the girls' hands and the hands and nails of their mother.

Police said they conducted a welfare check after Watts' friend called and requested one.

Shanann Watts was looking forward to a party on Saturday to disclose the gender of her third child, CNN affiliate KDVR said, quoting a friend.

He said: "I don't feel like this is even real right now. They were always so - I'm completely lost for words", Bell said. I was just diagnosed with lupus and fibro [fibromyalgia] and I felt like my world was crumbling around me!

Shanann's friend, Amanda Thayer, said she left everything, including her phone, wallet and handbag, inside the house.

"We were talking about general things", he said, "about how her two girls were doing and how life was out in Colorado". The bodies were found "in close proximity" to where Shanann Watts was found dead earlier Thursday. Police went to the Watts home in the 2800 block of Saratoga Trail in the Wyndham Hill subdivision and couldn't find her, Albert said.

A man who did not give his name announced to those gathered in front of the house that Shanann Watts' parents could not make it to the vigil, but they wanted to extend their gratitude to those who came out to show support. "Then I met you!" she continued. Her brother took to Facebook to lash out at Watts, saying "I just want 30 seconds alone with that heartless psychopath".

"I just thank God that I got to spend the last (six) weeks loving, laughing, and enjoying what precious time I had with my sister and nieces that I loved with every inch of my soul", Rzucek wrote.

Le-Vel, a "health and wellness" company Shanann Watts worked for, according to her public Facebook page, has posted a message regarding Watts and her two daughters.

Law enforcement authorities were drawn to consider him a suspect because of his "cavalier" attitude in interactions with the FBI, which has been assisting with the high-priority investigation.

But a Weld County District judge dismissed the motion, citing concerns about the credibility of the forensic expert consulted by the attorney, the Denver Post reported. The two women quickly became friends, and before long they were texting or calling each other nearly daily. "Given that the investigation is ongoing, please direct all questions to law enforcement".
