Trump Calls Omarosa 'A Lowlife' After N-Word Claim Surfaces

Trump called Manigault Newman "wonderful", "a very nice person" and a "very, very fine person" when she joined him on the campaign trail in 2016. In the book, she paints Mr Trump as scattered, self-absorbed, misogynistic and insecure.

Her dramatic divorce from a man she likens to a cult leader is the subject of a salacious, self-serving, mostly unverifiable account of her West Wing tenure, "Unhinged: An Insiders Account of the Trump White House" (Gallery Books, 330 pages).

A reporter asks Trump if he feels betrayed by Omarosa, to which he responds: "Lowlife". She wrote the book after Trump fired her.

'I didn't want to believe it, ' she writes. "It's how I'm going to make great deals for the country".

Manigault Newman claims Trump wanted to use his own business book at the swearing-in ceremony rather than the bible. Hearing it changed everything for me, ' she said.

But he appeared to be bothered by the former Apprentice contestant's tell-all book where she claims he used the n-word and tried to buy her silence with a $15,000-a-month job.

Along with her "race war" comments Omarosa said, laughing, that "oh yeah, there's some people gettin' it on in the white house". She acknowledges she had never been able to obtain or hear the tapes but said three unnamed sources had described their contents.

Despite her claims, the White House has vehemently denied her writing, instead writing her off as a "disgruntled former White House employee" who is "trying to profit off these false attacks", according to The Hill.

Newman also reportedly wrote she heard Trump use other racial epithets to refer to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway's husband George, who is half-Filipino.

On Friday, the White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, issued a statement on the book, saying it was "riddled with lies" and condemning Manigault Newman for not praising Trump.
