Arsenal goalkeeper Cech: We forgot how to win under Wenger

Alexandre Lacazette fired Arsenal to a fourth successive Premier League win as the French forward's superb strike inspired a hard-fought 2-0 success against Everton on Sunday.

In the opening 15 minutes, Walcott was seen picking up a stray ball deep inside Everton's half.

Arsenal tried to raise the tempo as the second half began and worked a chance for Ramsey to shoot from the edge of the box following a corner, Pickford holding on.

Gabon worldwide Aubameyang doubled the lead two minutes later from what appeared to be an offside position, sending Pickford the wrong way from close range.

Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners at The Emirates despite a positive showing from Everton and an encouraging performance up until the two goals.

"Our team came to play and press high, but their goalkeeper is the best player on the pitch, and I think it reflects our performance".

Arsenal also won by two goals, just for the record.

"Thirty-eight matches give us and give them (opponents) the clarity to show who is the best for the top four".

A long pass into Richarlison should have been easy for Bellerin to subdue, but he allowed the Brazilian forward to turn away from him far too easily, and it took a good save from Petr Cech to spare his team-mate's blushes. I didn't feel like it was going to be at Arsenal then.

Petr Cech and Jordan Pickford both made fine saves in the effort, but Cech had more and Everton struggled to find much threat outside of Richarlison and Theo Walcott.

Everton's manager Marco Silva believed his side, who created most of the early chances as they looked for their first victory at Arsenal since January 1996, deserved at least a draw.

"I would say the Arsenal way was more important than getting the points sometimes and this is not sometimes how you win the league", said Cech.

But, having escaped without punishment for their tepid first half, Arsenal seized the lead in the 56th minute.
