Tiger Woods doesn't scare us, says Europe's Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn

Speaking afterwards, Furyk was full of praise for the 42-year-old, following his 80th PGA Tour title win in Atlanta.

"Thomas mentioned this is probably the strongest American team we've ever had and maybe it's the strongest team Europe has ever fielded top to bottom", Furyk said.

When it is taken into account that most of these matches took place when he was far and away the best golfer in the game and winning majors for fun, it is a shocking, but not that perplexing record.

Although his ranking was so low he needed a captain's pick to make the team, his recent surge in form and confidence means that he will undoubtedly be one of the focal points of Jim Furyk's team and the man the fans at the Le Golf National will want to follow.

Tiger Woods will be back on TV later this week.

"I was pretty emotional when Rory [McIlroy] was tapping", Woods said after the tournament.

Furyk said that Woods, who will be playing in his eighth Ryder Cup, had grown into his role as an elder statesman of the American team.

Woods' chemistry with these younger players is at an all-time high right now and can't help but be an edge for the United States team.

Unless Woods plays a massive role in the U.S. bringing the chalice back to America on Monday.

There was no word on Monday whether Tiger Woods flew the US Ryder Cup team charter from Atlanta to Paris overnight, but he was so high off of his euphoric Tour Championship victory Sunday, he probably could have flown the plane over the Atlantic without its engines fired. For everyone in golf, it's brilliant'.

"We're reminded of it quite often. They are well aware of how hard it is to win in Europe".

His season-ending Tour Championship victory sent social media into frenzy, much like it had the raucous crowd around the 18th green.

Current captain Thomas Bjorn, who had some memorable battles with Woods as a player, also welcomed his return.

'Do I think we're in for a hostile reception?
