‘Pet Sematary’ Remake Drops First Trailer

‘Pet Sematary’ Remake Drops First Trailer

"Kids used to dare each other to go into the woods at night". While the remake of Halloween is on the radar for horror fans this month, a new trailer for an updated version of Pet Sematary was released today.

"Pet Sematary" is the second King remake taken on by Paramount, following the summer blockbuster "It", which became the highest grossing horror film of all time. When their cat is hit by a truck, they bury it in the pet cemetery near their new home - only to find out it is a place where the dead don't always stay dead. Let us know if this trailer has you pumped or not!

Fans of the 1989 film, to say nothing of the original book, will undoubtedly be pleased with the tone established with the first footage, as the Creed family moves to rural ME, only to discover a unsafe road on one side of their home (foreshadowing!), and a burial ground on the other. She made a lasting impression on readers and audiences everywhere, and while she can't be spotted in this trailer, she will definitely appear in the Pet Sematary remake - and in a much better way. Stephen King's previous novel adaptation, IT, was a massive success when it released past year.

Zelda, a 10 year old girl, was actually played by a young Andrew Hubatsek under 14 hours worth of makeup. The first trailer has now been released. Instead, it'll hone in on what makes the story so horrifying. He added that the upcoming film will be "one of the scariest Stephen King adaptations ever".

Paramount Pictures unleashes Pet Sematary to theaters on April 5, 2019.
