Trump Calls Caravan 'NATIONAL EMERGENCY,' Notifies Military — CARAVAN CHAOS

He added that the U.S. would begin "cutting off, or substantially reducing aid" to three Central American countries.

According to a press release by the U.S. Department of State, the United States is closely following the migrant invasion force, in which thousands of nationals from Honduras and other countries continue to make a unsafe journey through Guatemala and into Mexico.

According to the US Agency for International Development, US aid obligations this year are about US$53 million to Guatemala, US$20 million to El Salvador and US$15 million to Honduras.

Thousands of mostly Honduran migrants have been heading towards the U.S. border with Mexico despite President Trump declaring that they are unwelcome.

Keeping together for strength and safety in numbers, some huddled under a metal roof in the city's main plaza Sunday night.

Mr. Trump, who has for days now blasted Democrats and the United States' immigration laws over the caravan, also warned, without citing evidence, that "unknown Middle Easterners" and "criminals" are mixed into the caravan of people heading towards the United States' southern border.

President Donald Trump had harsh words for Honduras's government Monday morning, as word spread that a second "migrant caravan" departed from the central American nation, headed for the United States's southern border: if Honduras doesn't stem the "refugee" outflow, they may lose American aid.

Others lay exhausted in the open air, with only thin sheets of plastic to protect them from ground soggy from an intense evening shower.

He adds: "I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy".

"We have to sleep on the sidewalk, and tomorrow wake up and keep walking".

Critics of the caravan have noted that the flags seen among the group include Honduran and Guatemalan flags, but no American flags.

Trump tweeted last Tuesday that he had "strongly informed" Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez that he would eliminate aid to his country if he didn't stop the massive caravan bound for the U.S. Many migrants, especially children, are suffering in the hot and humid weather, as they look for sources of food and water.

The State Department says that they are concerned that these migrants may be victimized by human smugglers or others who would exploit them.

Mexican immigration officials approached caravan migrants earlier to propose an orderly entry plan and set out to solve related problems.

"'The goal is to reach the (U.S.) border", she said.
