Vikas Bahl sends notices to Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane for ‘defamatory remarks’

Also, after the dissolution of Phantom Films, which was established in 2011 as a joint venture by Vikas Bahl, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena, reasons behind it were discussed.

The director of Queen has also alleged in the notice that Kashyap has bribed another employee of Phantom Films to make similar allegations against Bahl and therefore questioning the original charge of sexual assault against him.

The defamation notice alleges that Mr Kashyap and Mr Motwane acted on hearsay to paint Mr Bahl as the villain of the piece.

After a woman employee at Phantom Films alleged that Bahl had behaved inappropriately with her during a trip to Goa in 2015 in a recent HuffPost article. The survivor added that she approached Anurag Kashyap in October 2015 to confide in him but her testimony was not taken up seriously.

According to the report in the daily, Vikas accused his former co-workers of "orchestrating the whole campaign against him" and using this opportunity to disperse the production house and make him responsible for the fall.

On the other hand I vehemently deny to have stayed silent on the issue & not doing anything about it for years. However, the piece was also critical of Mr Kashyap's way of handling the matter, including the delay in calling Vikas Bahl out. She had said, "Whatever is happening with Vikas Bahl is absolutely correct". Bahl has accused them of maligning his image by giving statements on social media.

The fate of Super 30 remains unknown as Bahl has been fired from a series which was greenlighted by Amazon. Super 30 lead actor Hrithik Roshan has also promised to take "stricter actions" against the filmmaker "if need be".

Lately, names of popular celebrities such as Nana Patekar, Vikas Bahl, Alok Nath have been called with accusations of sexual harassment. One ex-employee of Phantom Films accused the director of sexual misconduct.

Meanwhile, the MAMI film body has dropped two films from its line-up - one is Kadakh, which stars actor Rajat Kapoor, who recently apologised after twosexual harassment allegations. Former AIB member Utsav Chakraborty has been accused by women of sending them perverse texts while Gursimran Khamba has been accused of harassment.
