Vunipola to miss Bok Tests after breaking arm

Brothers Billy and Mako Vunipola have given England coach Eddie Jones another injury concern after both went off injured in Saracens' 13-3 Champions Cup victory over Glasgow on Sunday.

"Nick Isiekwe, Billy Vunipola and Mako Vunipola are set for a spell on the sidelines", Saracens said in a statement.

Jones' issues don't end there, though, as loosehead prop Mako Vunipola sustained a calf strain in the same match, with Saracens saying that "his progress will be monitored". Billy Vunipola's latest setback piles on the misery for England's talismanic back-row forward, who missed the 2017 British & Irish Lions tour after shoulder surgery before serious knee trouble and two consecutive right-arm fractures denied him further Test-match honours. Nick Isiekwe sprained his ankle and is being assessed to determine the full extent of the problem.

The 25-year-old will undergo surgery on Tuesday and is expected to be out for around 12 weeks. This time it is his left arm that has incurred the injury.

Wasps No 8 Nathan Hughes' status for the autumn Tests is uncertain as he faces a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday for punching Gloucester's Lewis Ludlow.

Lock Joe Launchbury had knee surgery last week and winger Anthony Watson was also already ruled out of the November tests.

England take on South Africa at Twickenham on 3 November and then play New Zealand, Japan and Australia on the three subsequent Saturdays.
