However, the Ardyn DLC is due to release in March 2019.

2019 was supposed to hold the Dawn of the Future expansion series, featuring Episode Ardyn, Episode Aranea, Episode Lunafreya, and Episode Noctis.

In addition, the program announced that it will release a standalone game version of the Final Fantasy XV "Comrades" DLC as Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades on December 13 (December 12 in North America), with sales of the original "Comrade" DLC to stop on the same date.

Those looking to adventure further in Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV universe will likely be disappointed to hear that 3 of the 4 upcoming content add-ons for the game have been cancelled.

FFXV director Hajime Tabata also announced his exit from Square Enix during the stream. "The main objective of establishing Luminous Productions was to create a studio that can deliver a completely new AAA title to the global market. The desire is to deliver this new AAA experience to everyone even a day [sic] sooner, and due to this directional change, the company chose to focus our resources on the development of this AAA title".

According to Akio Ofuji, brand director of Final Fantasy XV, the new IP being developed by Luminous Productions is still being worked on, and he hopes fans look forward to it.

While the previously announced modding tools and Steam Workshop support have already been added, it's unclear whether the level editor is also forthcoming. Once it does go live, the game mode in the main Final Fantasy XV game will no longer be playable, players will instead have to download Comrades separately.

The company also announced a standalone version of the Comrades multiplayer game would be made available, while a collaboration with online game Final Fantasy XIV - called "Adventurer from Another World" was also slated to occur.
