White House aide’s job in jeopardy after Melania Trump issues scathing statement

Last month, Mr. Kelly got into a heated argument outside the Oval Office with National Security Adviser John R. Bolton.

The office of First Lady Melania Trump has officially laid down the gauntlet and called for deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel to be booted from the White House. The other source said that Melania Trump felt that Ricardel tried to short-change the first lady in terms of US government resources allocated to support her Africa tour.

During a panel discussion Tuesday, host Jake Tapper cited a Wall Street Journal report that revealed the only people who feel secure in their jobs at the White House are related to the president.

"There have been instances where the East Wing staff were not treated as equals to the male-dominated decision makers in Chief Kelly's office", a White House official told the network.

What's different this time around is that the office of First Lady Melania Trump chose to attack a member of the White House staff on the record and in no uncertain terms. Earlier this year, Kelly had ousted of some staffers, like the first lady's director of operations, and she is said to have viewed it as a slight against her.

Trump has not finalized the timing for Nielsen's firing because of a lack of obvious candidates to replace her, according to the newspaper.

Currently, Ricardel serves as the top deputy to John Bolton, the National Security Advisor.

He reportedly told Kelly to give the first lady whatever she wanted, adding: 'I don't need this shit'.

That clash also involved Ms. Nielsen, according to White House sources. Ricardel has reportedly also clashed with Defense Secretary James Mattis in the past, per The Hill, regarding Pentagon appointments and more, even stopping Mattis from hiring some officials at the beginning of Trump's presidency over "concerns" that they had shown support for Hillary Clinton during her presidential run. She declined to name anyone but said she had let the president know who they are.

A source familiar with Ricardel's White House performance said Ricardel has run afoul of much of the NSC staff and "sort of alienated everyone" except for Bolton, who is now travelling in Asia with Vice-President Mike Pence.

A source claimed Nielsen - who used to work on disaster management response for the White House under Bush - is referred to as a "Bushie" by Trump.

Sources say that Nielsen had a contentious working relationship with the President.
