Arsenal players filmed inhaling laughing gas

Players including Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi feature in the footage, which appears to come from CCTV footage and was published by the Sun newspaper on Friday.

"Hippy crack" - also known as laughing gas - can severely affect coordination and lead to potentially devastating health issues such as heart attacks or even death.

While it is not illegal to possess the drug, it is illegal to give away or sell.

A number of Gunners stars were in attendance at the "champagne and vodka party" in a VIP area of a West End Nightclub in August prior to the Premier League season getting underway.

The Sun quoted a source as saying that the players had been "off their heads on the gas" and that Ozil, 30, a World Cup victor with Germany in 2014, had "looked out of it at one point". Footballers Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish have all been embroiled in scandals for taking it in the past.

Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolasinac are also seen in the video with balloons in their mouths, which is how the gas is ingested.

In the video, which reportedly comes from a London venue shortly before the start of the current season, other Gunners players including Henrik Mkhitaryan can be seen rejecting the offer to use the gas.

The Gunners are now fifth in the Premier League table.
