Facebook's reputation as an employer is really suffering

Companies to be considered have to have at least 1,000 employees during this time frame and at least 30 ratings from United Kingdom based staff.

Facebook's overall rating fell from 4.6 out of 5 at the end of last year to 4.5 today, which follows a year of public controversies over its handling of election meddling and for allowing data on 87 million users to be shared with political consultancy Cambridge Analytica. Zoom Video Communications 3.

Employer review site Glassdoor has released its list of the 25 best places to work in Canada, for businesses with 1,000 employees or more.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal last month citing an internal survey at Facebook, just over half of Facebook employees (52 per cent) said they were optimistic about the future of the social networking platform - down by 32 per cent past year.

While Facebook was the best place to work in America a year ago, Cupertino-based tech giant Apple had tumbled to number 84 in 2017 from its 36th position in 2016. Among the large corporations highly rated by their employees, Bain & Company, Zoom Video Communications, and In-N-out Burger cinched the top three spots with close to flawless ratings.

Opportunities for advancement also got mentioned by workers.

One employee wrote in a review that the biggest upside to working there is the opportunity for career growth. Boston Consulting Group 6.

Facebook no longer tops Glassdoor's list of best places to work.

It is possible that Facebook slipped in the list this year because of all the controversies that have surrounded it. Google was 8th while Salesforce came 11th. Bain & Company, Google and Apple are the only companies to make Glassdoor's list of 100 companies all 11 years. Google 9. lululemon 10.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai was scheduled to testify before lawmakers on Wednesday, but the hearing is postponed due to the funeral for former President George H.W. Bush.

Glassdoor relies on anonymous company reviews on its site when formulating the list. These controversies started with the Cambridge Analytica revelations early this year but since then nearly every month there was something new.

Anglian Water came in at number 1 for the first time with a rating of 4.5.

A Facebook employee at the company's Menlo Park headquarters warned Glassdoor visitors not to believe all the negative press. It was the only utilities company to feature in the top 10.
