Trevor Ariza set to leave Phoenix Suns

Many were surprised when the Rockets allowed Trevor Ariza to walk away and join the Phoenix Suns over the summer.

After joining the Phoenix Suns this offseason, it was easy to predict that Trevor Ariza would eventually be traded or bought out, and why couldn't the Golden State Warriors be the buyers.

Ariza signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Suns in the offseason and is not eligible to be traded until December 15.

Rival teams believe Phoenix will listen to offers for the 33-year-old forward, according to a report from the New York Times.

Ariza himself spoke of the situation on Tuesday, and doesn't feel that he's going anywhere - at least not right now.

"I'm not one to get somewhere and then just duck out", Ariza said. "That's the type of person that I am, and that's what I expect".

Averaging 9.9 points, 3.3 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game, Ariza is shooting 36 percent from three this season.

He is having his worst shooting season of his career (37 percent overall) and has not averaged fewer than 11.7 points per game since a 2012-13 season with the Washington Wizards.

The Suns will face the Kings on Tuesday.

And the Suns have other young players, their own first-round pick (which now looks awfully attractive) and a Milwaukee first-round pick from the Eric Bledsoe trade that the Bucks would convey only if they are picking from No. 4 to 16 in 2019 or Nos.
