Cesc Fabregas Completes Move From Chelsea To Monaco, Reunites With Thierry Henry

"Cesc Fabregas has today completed a permanent transfer to Monaco", Chelsea said on their website as Ligue 1 Monaco tweeted a video of Fabregas with a voice-over saying "now it's time".

The 31-year-old Fabregas is young enough to be considered a big signing for Monaco and he could have a major bearing on the club's chances of staying up. Have your say in the comment section below. I'm here to help the team. "I am very excited".

Monaco, managed by Fabregas's former Arsenal team mate Thierry Henry, are struggling second from bottom of the Ligue 1 standings ahead of a crunch game against neighbours Olympique de Marseille on Sunday.

Fabregas scored 22 goals for the London club in 198 appearances.

After winning two Premier League titles with the Blues, he has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge this season under new coach Maurizio Sarri.

'Michy? I know him, we rubbed shoulders with Belgium, he is a player who can be interesting, ' Henry said.

The Premier League club are understood to be interested in deals for Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella and Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes.

What his departure does do is free up a large chunk of Chelsea's wage bill, with Fabregas the third-highest paid player at the club behind N'Golo Kante and Eden Hazard despite only having six months left on his contract.

"We are very pleased to welcome Cesc Fabregas, a world-class player and a great professional, whose arrival demonstrates the ambition of the club", said Vadim Vasilyev, the club's vice president and general manager.
