Fortnite Update v7.10 Adds New Suppressed Sniper Rifle and More

The suppressed sniper rifle was discovered by Fortnite data miner Lucas7yoshi and will come in the Epic variety.

Although Epic games may be bracing itself against lawsuits from such heavyweights as Backpack Kid, Alfonso Ribeiro and possibly BlocBoy JB ("Should I Sue Fortnite Or Nah"), the tweaks and patches to keep their marquee title operating at maximum addictive levels, keep coming.

Available in Epic and Legendary variants.

If you're trying to hunt down the Suppressed Sniper Rifle in-game, you'll need to look in chests, floor loot, Vending Machines, and Supply Drops.

The low-rarity Burst Rifles and the Six Shooter will now join a huge list of vaulted Fortnite weapons, which also include the defunct Crossbow, Tactical Submachine Gun, and Drum Gun.

The suppressor makes for a quieter shot, trading stealth for power.

The Six Shooter, meanwhile, has been vaulted, as has the Uncommon, Common, and Rare variants of the Burst Assault Rifle.

Dual Pistols have been unvaulted.

Dynamite drop rate reduced by 40 percent.

Health reduced from 600 to 400.

Though, impact damage reduction while boosting through structures has been reduced from 50 percent to 25 percent.

The knockback a player receives after being hit by a Stormwing has been decreased by 70%.

Damage done to the Stormwing from colliding with structures has been increased by 50 percent. The Stormwing spawn rate has also dropped from 100 percent to 80 percent, meaning you are always guaranteed to find a plane in the same place for each round.

Supply Drop health has been reduced to 250/500/750 (Solo/Duo/Squad). The X-4 will no longer be able to fly above the maximum building height. Does not consume ammo, but has very low durability.

Available from January 9 at 7 PM ET until January 16 at 7 PM ET. Use your time wisely! They don't appear to have undergone any balance changes.

The flow of the Winter Royale tournament that took place in December was thrown off in a big way by the Infinity Blade weapon as seen in the clip above, so those future events hopefully won't feature the same issues. The Dual Pistols were beloved during their tenure, so it's nice to see them making a comeback.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and mobile.

The suppressed sniper rifle is already a part of Fortnite's PvE mode - Save The World - under the name Frostbite.
