In Botched Delivery, Nurse "Pulls Too Hard" Leaving Baby's Head In Womb

In Botched Delivery, Nurse

The father of the baby has alleged that the hospital staff tried to conceal the matter and didn't inform his family about the botch-up and tried to hide the part of the baby's body which was pulled out.

The nurses, at a government health centre in Ramgarh, then asked the woman's family to take her to a hospital.

During the birth, it is understood the baby was in breech and when a nurse attempted to pull it out, he ripped the child's body in two from the torso down, leaving the head inside Ms Kanwar's womb. She is reportedly fighting for her life now.

The horrifying incident occurred on Monday at Ramgarh primary health centre (PHC) in Jaisalmer.

The body separated from the head, which was still inside the mother's womb.

An Indian nurse allegedly tore the head off an unborn foetus while in the delivery room. Two male nurses have also been suspended.

When he thought something was wrong, he then referred her to another hospital in Jodhpur.

Jalam Singh, sub-inspector and investigating officer of the case, said on behalf of Diksha, her husband Tilok Bhati lodged a complaint against Amritlal and Junjhar Singh, the two male nurses.

Doctors conducted an operation and found the foetus' head in the womb.

ANI quoted Dr Sankhla from Jaisalmer's Jawahar Hospital as saying that: "The reports from the Ramgarh health centre stated that delivery had been done".

After the incident, they asked family members to take the woman to Jaisalmer claiming that the opening of the womb had closed and it was hard to take the umbilical cord out.

'When questioned, the hospital staffers handed over the lower part of the foetus to us.

No arrests have been made so far.
