Michy Batshuayi loan cut short by Valencia

Michy Batshuayi loan cut short by Valencia

Batshuayi signed for Chelsea from Marseille for £33million back in 2016 but failed to nail down a consistent spot in the first team.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, January 10, Valencia's sporting director Mateu Alemany confirmed the Belgian forward will be returning to west London this January.

Michy has only scored three goals in 23 appearances for the Spanish club but there's no doubt he would have been a danger to Celtic had Valencia even been able to call upon the striker from the bench during their doubleheader in February.

"His situation is very clear".

Everton, who already have defender Kurt Zouma on loan from Stamford Bridge, cannot take Batshuayi on loan due to restrictions on the numbers of players one club can have from another.

But for all of Batshuayi's impressive scoring rates around Europe, he found himself loaned out once more this season to Spanish side Valencia.

We are expecting an exit in the next few hours or days'. "I've played with him and I know what he could do". We hope that, for his sake, this can be resolved as soon as possible. At 25-years-old, Batshuayi is still young and has plenty of quality.

But he has struggled to make an impact at Valencia and Alemany said an official announcement regarding his departure from the club could be imminent.

Everton have been crying out for a prolific frontman with Cenk Tosun falling out of favour under Marco Silva, and Oumar Niasse deemed not good enough.
