Bradley Cooper Admits He Was ‘Embarrassed’ By His Best Director Oscars Snub

Even though "A Star Is Born" has received tons of nominations at the 2019 Oscars, Bradley Cooper struggled to cope with the fact that he was snubbed in the Best Director category. "But the truth is, even if I got the nomination, that should not give me any sense of whether I did my job or not", he said.

Bradley Cooper made his directorial debut previous year, but despite good reviews and a big box office haul, he's a little disappointed.

He continued: "I was embarrassed because I felt I hadn't done my job". However, he added that in the end, it was about making something you believed in and working hard on it.

Lady Gaga credited the film's success to Cooper's leadership abilities, stating at a press event on September 11, 2018 (via People), "Bradley really has been an incredible leader in creating a lovely family".

Nevertheless, Cooper has a lot to be proud of, seeing as he's nominated for three Oscars for A Star Is Born this year. It was also the movie that brought Cooper together with the incredible Lady Gaga.

Cooper opened up about this experience, magically conjuring an orchestra of the world's tiniest violins, on Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations from Times Square. "But it's amusing you ask this, because I've thought about this".

An Academy Award is not the definitive authority on a filmmaker's talent, but Bradley Cooper's Oscars snub definitely stung.

"Well, you know, you never know what's going to happen".

"A Star Is Born", however, is likely to walk away with some Oscars gold, receiving a total of eight nominations with an nearly surefire win in the Best Original Song category.
