Bucks Send Two to Pelicans for Mirotic

Mirotic's move to Milwaukee will help the Bucks make a stronger push for a higher playoff spot.

The Pelicans will receive Stanley Johnson and Jason Smith in return.

Anthony Davis's impending trade isn't really going anywhere, with the Pelicans not ready to give into the "stupendous offer" given by the Lakers.

The New Orleans Pelicans have finally done it, shipping a player in their frontcourt to another team hours before the NBA's trade deadline.

The sharp-shooting big man was traded from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Milwaukee Bucks, according to multiple reports, adding more outside scoring around young super star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks had been linked to Mirotic as well Wednesday afternoon, thanks to a report by Sporting News' Mitch Lawrence. The team has placed an emphasis on three-point shooting this year with the addition of new head coach Mike Budenholzer, and Mirotic should certainly provide some reinforcements in that regard - he's taking 7.2 per game and knocking down almost 37 percent of them.

27-year-old Mirotic has drawn the interest of several teams during the trade season, with San Antonio Spurs and Brooklyn Nets among them.

While there's still some time left between now and the deadline, the message is simple with this trade: the best team in the National Basketball Association has their sights set on this year to make some real waves come playoff time.
