Haas unveil new 2019 VF-19 auto for 2019 F1 season

"We're absolutely over the moon to be in Formula 1", Storey said at the unveiling of the new Haas livery.

Rich Energy's long-mooted arrival in the sport has coincided with their black and gold colours being incorporated into Haas' vehicle livery for 2019.

While still relatively little-known, Rich Energy have been linked with involvement at F1 teams for the past two seasons but potential tie-ups with Force India and Williams have not materialised. However, the American squad has a big bridge to cap to close down Red Bull.

"Haas are brilliant people and they're the ideal partner for Rich Energy as we move forward to challenge Red Bull on and off the track", said Storey.

"We are confident we will beat Red Bull in many races this year", Storey said. While the new livery was showcased on the 2018 show vehicle at the launch event in London, the team has released digital images of the VF-19 online showcasing its 2019 F1 challenger. "We've worked closely with Haas F1 Team to ensure we present a strong look, one we're now very proud to take around the world competing in Formula One".

"And I think our results will start to speak for themselves".

"We intend on being in Formula 1 long, long term and we believe that Haas are a dream partner for us". He eyed challenging Red Bull on-track with Haas, which he labelled the best-run team with "the best business model" in F1. It has a brand value, F1, which I think is unprecedented in sport.

"I don't think so in 2019", he said.

"I think we've already beaten them, we've got a better-looking auto, that's a bit biased there! While 2018 delivered our best season-to-date, the year showed, sometimes sharply, that we still have areas to improve on as a team".

"If you do not want to take on your opponents, you will achieve nothing", said the Danish driver. We've put [the new wing] on, been running, seen what we have to see and I think the next big step is to get the correlation from the circuits to see if it's actually real or not.

At the peak of their powers, Red Bull won four consecutive drivers' and constructors' championships, from 2010-2013.

Storey told Motorsport.com that he welcomed scrutiny and "the detractors are obviously not on the same planet as you and me".
