Lady Gaga wins three Grammys, Michelle Obama makes appearance

Lady Gaga hit the stage with Mark Ronson to perform a gorgeous rendition of "Shallow" from 'A Star Is Born.' Lady Gaga's vocals are just INSANE!

Gaga, who is to perform later on Sunday, said on Twitter she was "in tears with honour and gratitude". During her acceptance speech, she spoke about mental health, which is a central theme in her film. Look, if there's people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain and snow, spending money to buy tickets to your shows, you don't need this right here. "This is just the beginning of moving to a more inclusive future".

"His voice was his vision and his music was his peace", his daughter Toni said while accepting the trophy along with her brother.

The music world will hit the red carpet on Sunday for the Grammys, with a wider selection of nominees - led by hip-hop royalty and a bevy of talented women - up for the top prizes. The Grammys show itself has become more of an all-star concert event with a few awards handed out between performances.

It all began when Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich told The Associated Press in an article published Thursday that by the time Grande and those running the show reached the point where a performance felt possible, she decided against it because she felt it was "too late for her to pull something together".

"I'm not gonna be able to wear any makeup tonight", she tweeted. "I hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more".

Grande added that she had offered to perform three different songs, but that the process, which she wrote should be "about art and honesty", wound up feeling like a game: "that's not what music is to me", she concluded. Other big stars also won't be in attendance, including Kendrick Lamar, the top nominee with eight, and Drake, nominated for seven awards. Taylor Swift, who was snubbed and scored one nomination, also won't be at the show.

As for other ways to watch the Grammys, you can also tune into American network CBS. A representative for the Grammys didn't return an email seeking clarification about the tribute.

Sunday's show will include performances by Diana Ross, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Dolly Parton, Janelle Monae, Shawn Mendes, Katy Perry, Ricky Martin and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Yolanda Adams, Fantasia and Andra Day will honor the late Aretha Franklin with a performance. "Thank you for my family", she said.
