OnePlus 5G smartphone prototype will be shown at MWC 2019

The company had said that the event is for the networking goal only and that it does not intend to launch any new product.

OnePlus has collaborated with European telecom carrier EE to be among the first brands to launch a 5G smartphone. With MWC 2019 just around the corner, we can expect the 5G prototype to be shown to a lot of people at the trade show.

OnePlus isn't the only company to demo a 5G prototype phone.

OnePlus says that MWC visitors will be invited to "communicate with [their] community over a 5G network", though it's not clear what that entails.

The OnePlus 5G handset is expected to debut sometime in May alongside the OnePlus 7. Bear in mind that both the Snapdragon 845 and Snapdragon 835 are compatible with the Snapdragon X50, but it's most likely that OnePlus will stick to Qualcomm's latest silicon. "Keep an eye out for the limited-edition Qualcomm x OnePlus pin badge, only available at the OnePlus stand", OnePlus told XDA Developers in a statement. To recollect, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced the coming of a 5G phone at Qualcomm Snapdragon summit where the chip maker launched the Snapdragon 855 SoC which is going to power most flagships this year including the most anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+.

The words noted in the media invite hints that the OnePlus 5G phone may be targeted to the gamers out there or mostly the power users.
