Why Kate Middleton had to apologise to BAFTA guests

Kate Middleton made a fashion statement on the BAFTAs red carpet.

Fans who had gathered outside the Royal Albert Hall in central London screamed as the royal couple walked side-by-side into the ceremony on Sunday evening after making the short journey from Kensington Palace. The gorgeous chiffon dress featured a cinched-waist and floral embellishments on her left shoulder. Princess Diana previously wore the earrings in 1995 when she was given the Humanitarian of the Year Award by the United Celebral Palsy Foundation.

Prince William wore a traditional black tuxedo but strayed from tradition slightly with a pair of black velvet loafers.

Of course William was looking as handsome as ever.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were among stars like Olivia Coleman and Bradley Cooper when they attended the BAFTA Awards at the weekend, where they were greeted with huge cheers from the crowd.

The royal couple sat in the front row for the star-studded awards ceremony and greeted some of the night's winners, including best actress victor Olivia Coleman, who is also an Oscar nominee for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite.
