Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill part of police investigation in Overland Park

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill is under investigation for an alleged battery, according to Steve Vockrodt and Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star.

According to police reports obtained by KCTV5, police officers were called to Hill's home in suburban Overland Park, Kansas, twice this month to investigate incidents involving a juvenile.

Hill's fiancee, Crystal Espinal, is the same woman the wide receiver reportedly choked and punched in 2014. Per a KC Star source, Hill is under investigation for hitting the couple's young boy. Hill had not been charged with any crime as of Friday afternoon.

According to Overland Park Police, the original report was closed three days later when prosecution was declined. Hill is not listed on that report, but Espinal is listed again under "others involved".

Chiefs spokesman Ted Crews said Friday the team has been in contact with local authorities and the National Football League as it gathers more information but declined further comment.

The Chiefs subsequently issued a statement on Friday saying that they are aware of the matter and have been cooperating with the league and local authorities.

The 25-year-old Hill has a history of domestic violence.

Following the incident with Espinal, Hill went to therapy and went to counseling for anger management. He pleaded guilty in 2015 to domestic assault and battery by strangulation and was given three years probation, and the conviction was dismissed after he completed his probation.

Even without released star running back Kareem Hunt, Kansas City remains stacked with playmakers, like wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins, tight end Travis Kelce, and running back Damien Williams.
