Football world reacts to blockbuster Odell Beckham Jr.-Jabrill Peppers trade

Dating back to last offseason, there have been plenty of rumors surrounding the possibility of Beckham being on the move, but once the Giants rewarded the wideout with a hefty five-year, $95 million contract extension, all of that talk seemed to quickly go away. New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman is taking heat for trading Odell Beckham the Cleveland Browns. But that is no excuse for Gettleman to get rid of him and then bring in Bethea.

Gettleman said in a statement.

The return is an average one at best for a player the caliber of Beckham Jr, and the evaluation of it all depends on if the Giants hit on the draft picks and if Peppers can produce with the G-men.

By unloading Beckham, the Giants have committed to Saquon Barkley as the face of the franchise.

Yes, Beckham was a handful who demanded constant care.

Instead, the Giants let him walk for nothing.

Their surrender was an organizational failure, from top to bottom.
