NSW man uses mobile phone to block arrow attack

The 43-year-old wasa sma allegedly confronted outside his Nimbin home on Wednesday morning by a man armed with a bow and arrow.

In a stroke of good luck, an Australian man who had an arrow fired at him managed to block the shot with his mobile phone.

A confrontation occurred outside the man's house in Nimbin, which is approximately 110 miles south of Brisbane. When the unnamed man raised his iPhone to photograph the attacker, he fired an arrow at him that pierced right through the device.

Once the resident exited his vehicle, he noticed another man, who was known to him, standing outside his property armed with a bow and arrow.

The 43-year-old from Nimbin was getting out of his auto Wednesday when a man he knew was standing outside his residence holding a bow and arrow, New South Wales Police said. The phone smashed into the resident's chin and caused a small cut but did not require medical treatment.

Police attended the scene and arrested the 39-year-old archer, charging him with armed intent to commit and indictable offence, actual bodily harm and malicious damage.

The attacker was granted conditional bail and will have to appear in court in April.
