Slack's new mobile dark mode is available for beta users

Per 9to5Google, the Dark Mode covers the majority of the app-including in-app menus and pop-ups-though the site did note that it doesn't appear to touch "the color palette of the Slack room".

More and more apps have been rolling out dark mode recently.

YouTube, Google Maps, Twitter and Google News are among the key apps on both iOS and Android offering the "dark mode" feature. The dark mode toggle will be available for all iOS and Android users soon, and the Slack team even says it's working on adding the feature to the desktop version of the app sometime in the future. First, you'll have to join Slack's beta program. We are elated that the new feature is finally available, even if it's limited right now to beta testers. So, if you want to get Dark Mode right now, you will need to enter the Beta program. You can join the beta testing from the app settings panel and choosing "Join Beta" to gain access to the dark mode. From there, you can enable the dark mode in the settings.

It is a welcome feature, especially if you are using Slack throughout the day during the work week. Just make sure you have the latest update before you go looking. Facebook has already introduced dark mode for Messenger while WhatsApp too is being on the verge of getting one. One reason why people have been requesting dark mode so much is that it's very helpful when it comes to reading content at night. It also helps conserve the battery. Do you notice the difference on your eyes between the white background and the grey background? The app will restart to apply it.
