Britney Spears ready to go home

Britney Spears ready to go home

This morning, the 37-year-old was forced to release a statement, after fans staged a protest in Hollywood - calling for her to be released from a psychiatric facility.

"My situation is unique, but I promise I'm doing what's best at this moment", she wrote, without directly addressing the mental health facility rumors. Spears made the decision to check out, but she will still be monitored while she's at home, the outlet reports, citing an anonymous source close to the singer.

Spears is reportedly looking forward to spending time with her family and does not now have any plans to return to performing.

"She is urged to take it easy for a long period of time".

"My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal", she added.

"Britney's father's health has been weighing on her, and affecting her emotional well-being", an insider told E!

"She had a small smile and just looked chill like she got to get away from things for a little while and enjoyed a normal day with her boyfriend", an eyewitness described at that time.

Spears was seen leaving the centre with her boyfriend Sam Asghari and heading towards their home. "But don't worry, I'll be back very soon", she said in a short selfie video.

She has been on medication since her highly-publicized breakdown over a decade ago, when her dad was appointed a co-conservator of her personal and professional affairs - a role he still holds.

Spears announced earlier this year that she'd be taking a break from performing to focus on supporting her family - specifically, her father Jamie Spears, whose colon ruptured without warning last year and who has reportedly undergone multiple surgeries since. In the interim, the pop star admitted herself into a wellness center for the betterment of her mental health. She also attacked paparazzi with an umbrella.
