Here's the first trailer for season two of Big Little Lies

Season two sees Meryl Streep joining the cast of Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley.

Ahead of the new season (which will be landing on HBO in June), fans have been graced with the first trailer - and although the short teaser doesn't give too much away about what's about to go down, the sense of foreboding, pain, and absolute stress is palpable.

The murder mystery's first season followed Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste Wright (Nicole Kidman) and Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), three mothers in Monterey, California, who seem to have flawless lives. She plays new character Mary Louise Wright, mother of Alexander Skarsgård's Perry Wright, and mother-in-law of Nicole Kidman's Celeste Wright.

With all seven episodes directed and executive produced by Andrea Arnold ("Red Road", "Fish Tank", "Wuthering Heights", "American Honey"; Oscar victor for "Wasp"), "Big Little Lies" features teleplays by David E. Kelley.

Together, they make up the "Monterey Five", as people are now calling them. But once a school scandal erupts and the truth begins to unravel, things get complicated.
