Apple teams up with SAP on iPhone business apps

Some of the updates Bloomberg's sources leaked are already available in third-party apps downloadable now from Apple's App Store. Additionally, there also will be workshops, breakout sessions, and talks by Apple engineers to assist developers.

As we get further into the year we're bound to see components leak and get a better picture of to what we can expect from Apple's iPhone XS successor.

Native apps are developed specifically for the device's hardware and software, meaning they run more smoothly than web or cloud-based apps created to work across multiple platforms.

Apple has said that, among the highlights its planning for the developers conference are upgrades to core iPhone apps such as Maps, Reminders and Messages; new apps for the Apple Watch that will make it more independent from the iPhone, and enhancements to the health tracking capabilities of Apple devices.

For starters, the Apple Watch will get an on-device App Store, similar to the Google Play on Wear OS.

Apple is tipped to reveal an updated version of the long-forsaken Mac Pro at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this June.

The report dictates "Over the past year, Apple has removed or restricted at least 11 of the 17 most downloadable screen-time and parental-control apps". The App Store and other digital services are on course to generate more than $50 billion in annual revenue soon.

There's also iOS 13, which could mean a refreshed operating system for iPhones - including interface tweaks, cleaner home screens, a possible Dark Mode and updated system apps.

SAP announced that it will now be rolling out additional native iOS app versions from its portfolio.

Apple added cellular connectivity to the Apple Watch with the launch of the Series 3 in 2017, which made the device more independent from the iPhone, but you still had to install watch apps from the Apple Watch app on your phone.

"Machine learning models will automatically download to iPhone and iPad so apps can run offline, and then dynamically update while connected to SAP Cloud Platform", SAP said in its news release.

Apple expanding its relationship with German enterprise software company SAP SE to make it easier for their joint customers to build mobile business applications using the iPhone maker's machine learning tools. There's little in the way of hardware; new gadgets and gizmos are usually reserved for separate events, the most important being the iPhone launch, typically in the fall. You can even drag windows from your Mac display to your iPad and back.
