Britney Spears may never perform again, manager says

The gossip website says Spears' longtime manager Larry Rudolph told them that it is "clear to me she should not be going back to do this Vegas residency, not in the near future and possibly never again".

The 37 year-old McComb, Mississipi born singer is not in mental or physical shape to resume rehearsals for the series of line up shows which were suppose to kick off in February 2019, according to TMZ, .

Earlier this year, the Toxic hitmaker cancelled a string of planned dates for her upcoming Britney: Domination residency at the Park Theater at the Park MGM hotel and casino in Las Vegas, after her father Jamie underwent life-threatening surgery.

In early January, Grammy Award-winner Spears, 37, put the show on hold in order to be with her father, Jamie Spears, who she said had been hospitalised and had nearly died. At the time, she tweeted, "I don't even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say".

The "Piece of Me" singer confirmed she was on a work hiatus amid father's illness. "And, if she ever does want to work again, I'm here to tell her if it's a good idea or a bad idea", he added. "If that time never comes again, it will never come again", Rudolph told ET.

Britney Spears enjoys a family outing with Jayden Federline, Maddie Aldridge and Sean Federline at Planet Hollywood Disney Springs in Orlando, Fla., on March 13, 2017. "Her family has been incredibly anxious about her and spends as much time as possible with her". He said, "She clearly doesn't want to perform now". Personally, I want for her to just find a peaceful, happy place - whatever that means for her. "She'll come back to it when she's ready", says Rudolph. I have no desire or ability to make her work again. She was excited. She hasn't called me in months. And, if she ever does want to work again, I am here to tell her if it is a good idea or not, " he said.

Spears recently has been trying to break free from court-approved conservatorship overseen by her 66-year-old father Jamie Spears and also recently left rehab.

We can only hope Britney is doing what's best for her, and right now, it sounds like she needs to put herself first.

Rudolph said he was putting her well-being before her career.

Rudolph has been in touch with Spears' parents, but reiterates that his involvement is "on a need-to-know basis".
