Budget-friendly Nokia 4.2 coming to USA for $189, runs Android One

It offers users just 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM and is powered by the middle-of-the-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor.

The Nokia 4.2 was unveiled at this year's MWC which happened in late February. For the pre-bookings, the price of the Nokia 4.2 is listed as $189 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model on both Amazon and B&H Photo websites. Completing the entire setup is stock Android 9 Pie as part of the Android One program, a 3,000mAh battery, and support for T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, and Metro networks. Up front, it has a 5.7-inch 1080p LCD with a small notch at the top. Speaking of which, HMD Global is promising three years of security updates and two years of software updates. Two months after its announcement at Mobile World Congress, the Nokia 4.2 is now available for pre-orders in the U.S., where it will launch on May 14.

If you simply look at the hardware or even the design, the Nokia 4.2 will hardly impress. The report stated that the update is now rolling out to Nokia 6.1 Plus users in the Indian market.

Also worth noting, the phone has a dedicated voice assistant button for Google Assistant.

Pulling photography duties is a dual-lens system comprised of a primary 13-megapixel wide angle lens and a secondary 2-MP sensor purely used for depth effects. But now we have HMD Global who is putting out smartphones that are under $200, and should really cost more. The phone will be shipping on May 14, 2019, but those who want to grab it in-store will need to go to select Best Buy locations starting June 9, 2019.
