'Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil' Teaser Trailer

'Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil' Teaser Trailer

I've already made it known that, despite it being a relatively unpopular opinion, I really enjoyed Maleficent, and of all the Disney live-action films, it's probably the most creative. "I'm sure your kind would agree", Maleficent tells Queen Ingrith in the film's first teaser.

Disney surprised fans with the first teaser trailer for its "Maleficent" sequel Monday night. Also, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Harris Dickinson, Warwick Davis and Ed Skerin also star in the film. Maybe the movie will be good, but right now I don't see anything here that tempts me to dive back into the world of Maleficent.

As far as plot details go, we understand that Mistress of Evil kicks off several years after its predecessor and explores "the complex relationship between the horned fairy and soon to be Queen". Jolie's first outing as the Disney villain saw what drove Maleficent to curse the child in this version of the story.

Joachim Rønning directs from a story by Linda Woolverton and a screenplay by Linda Woolverton and Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster.

If devoted Disney fans think they know how this classic story will end, Maleficent ominously promises in the trailer that "this is no fairytale".

2014's Maleficent proved to be a massive hit as audiences loved the backstory of the "evil" fairy who set in motion the chain of events that would become the beloved Sleeping Beauty tale.
