Pavelski leads Sharks past Avalanche 3-2 in Game 7

"According to the National Hockey League, "[the] decision was made in accordance to Rule 83.3 (i) 'All players of the offending team clear the zone at the same instant (skate contact with the blue line) permitting the attacking players to re-enter the attacking zone ...'" MacKinnon said the injury will have to be rehabbed, and that "they shot me up with something, and I came back".

What made matters worse was the Sharks turned around and scored a goal just minutes later to go up 3-1 in the second period and would ultimately win 3-2.

In Round 2, Jones has been largely mediocre but that's totally fine because so has his counterpart, Philipp Grubauer.

We need to start having athletes chugging beers at all big games going forward. San Jose, on the other hand, fought tooth and claw against the Vegas Golden Knights and ended up with a legendary comeback in the third period of Game 7. However they'll be getting some help with the likely return of their Captain Joe Pavelski after a 6 game hiatus. "Wish I had a set-in-stone answer - go here, do this and be ready". All that stands in their way is the offensive machine that is the San Jose Sharks. The Avalanche had to knock off the top seed in the West, Calgary, in the first round and has never led in this series with the Sharks taking all the odd-numbered games and Colorado answering after that. The San Jose Sharks are averaging three goals per game and are scoring on 19.6 percent of their power play opportunities.

Pavelski took less than six minutes to provide more than just inspiration. As teams advance deeper and deeper into the playoffs, number of games played becomes more a factor, with the advantage going to team with fewer games under their belt. "It's unusual. And it's something we could have done without tonight, no question". DeBoer said. "He's a special player". The Colorado Avalanche have allowed three or less goals in eight of their last 10 games.

Joe Pavelski sends a pass in front for Tomas Hertl, who buries the one-timer to give the Sharks a 2-0 lead over the Avalanche in the first period.

Four minutes later, Joonas Donskoi put the Sharks up 3-1, setting up a tense third in which the Avalanche made things interesting thanks to a Tyson Jost goal 51 seconds in.

The Avalanche appeared to tie it nearly midway through the game when Colin Wilson converted a MacKinnon feed to stun the sea of teal. He created a couple of scoring chances and Colorado then converted with MacKinnon on the ice in the closing seconds of the period when Rantanen deflected a point shot from Samuel Girard with 6.8 seconds remaining in the first.

Replays indicated that Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog still was in the offensive zone when MacKinnon touched the puck.

"It's a clumsy mistake", Landeskog said. "'Get off the ice.' If I could have done something different on that play, I would have jumped the boards a lot quicker", Landeskog told reporters.

The Sharks then restored the two-goal lead later in the period when Donskoi skated around the net and beat Grubauer high to the short side for his first goal since January 10.
