Samsung’s Budget Smartphones Will Reportedly Have Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Features

The South Korean telecoms and electronics giant has already included such features on its recently released Galaxy S10, but it now plans to do the same on other Galaxy models, including budget options.

On the plus side, all three of Samsung's S10 series phones boast dynamic AMOLED screens, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of base storage.

Business Korea said that Samsung is also in talks with telecom firms such as SK Telecom and KT Corporation (formerly Korea Telecom) about possibly of working together on blockchain-based digital identity verification tools and other initiatives.

"Considering security and convenience, this device is the best blockchain device", Chae Won-chul, the head of technology strategy team at Samsung's mobile business division, said in an article published on Samsung's propaganda website. In China, Xiaomi was the first Chinese brand to supersede Apple and Samsung in shipments, but was eventually surpassed by Huawei, Vivo, and Oppo.

The company's senior managing director has said that lowering the barrier of entering the blockchain ecosystem is a top priority of Samsung.it is clear that the company wants as many of its customers to get acquainted with the blockchain system, and it is not something completely revolutionary. Furthermore, there will be a blockchain-supported Key Store, which will guarantee that the users can safely store their wallet keys on the device without anybody having access to them besides them. Whilst it does not support Bitcoin, Samsung did feature the BTC logo on promotional material, perhaps hinting that it could do in the future. The Samsung Galaxy A50 has started to receive the first OTA update which brings in some fantastic changes.

According to The Korea Herald, the new United States release date for the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be determined in the next few days.

It also appears that Samsung Electronics are keen to further develop blockchain-based security functions.
