The news outlet also claims that Apple will use its own under-screen fingerprinting technology rather than using a third-party component.

Citing a Counterpoint Research analyst, the cited source reveals that Apple's exports from India are now running at low speed, with around 100,000 units now shipped to select markets on the Old Continent.

A separate piece of intelligence from Credit Suisse reveals that Apple's screen suppliers in China are working on "full-screen displays". In 2021 the bite must disappear completely from the screen.

While the notch is expected to be less noticeable next year, there's a chance Apple could eliminate it entirely in the coming years, according to a Credit Suisse note reported by the China Times.

One of the most distinctive features of the newest iPhones is the top notch that houses the camera and upper speaker - both the iPhone X and iPhone XS have it, even though many other modern smartphones have come up with more modern solutions, or use smaller notches.

Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

The 2020 iPhone might reduce the size of the notch. Android phone makers like Samsung and OnePlus already sell devices that have fingerprint sensors built into their screens as well.

It is possible that this China-specific model is the same iPhone Kuo mentioned with a smaller notch. For those unaware, the other three iPhone models for next year would include a 6.7-inch, 6.1-inch, and a 5.4-inch OLED screen sizes and the cheaper model with an LCD, as aforementioned and likely to be targeted for Chinese markets only, according to an earlier report. By removing all the Face ID sensors and placing the camera and fingerprint sensor under the display, Apple would be able to deliver flawless all-screen iPhones a year later. Kuo also claims that the rear-facing camera in the 2020 iPhones may have a seven-piece lens system.
