Clues that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were headed for a split

It's only been days since the shocking news that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth put an end to their marriage only eight months after tying the knot!

While Brody reacted with a joke, which garnered a response from Miley, Liam has only said one thing publicly about his separation.

"You don't understand what it's like", Liam told Daily Mail Australia when asked about the split while out for a frozen yoghurt.

Hemsworth said the split was a "private matter" and he would not be making any further comment in the media.

Hemsworth also noted that "any reported quotes attributed to me are false".

The superstar couple confirmed they were breaking up after just seven months as husband and wife on Saturday, seemingly bringing to an end an on-off romance lasting a decade.

Miley announced her split from Liam over the weekend, saying that the pair had chose to focus on themselves and their careers. In a shocking announcement, a representative of Miley revealed that the couple has separated.

He added, "I don't want to talk about it, mate".

Cyrus shared a photo on her instagram without her wedding ring before announcing the split. They still remain dedicated parents to all of the animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart.

All signs are pointing towards divorce for the former couple who had had a rocky relationship even before they rekindled their relationship and got married previous year.

Cyrus has taken herself on a post-split trip to Italy, where she is continuing to show serious PDA with her friend and possible new love interest, The Hills: New Beginnings reality TV star Kaitlynn Carter.

The 26-year-old singer and the 29-year-old actor first met back in 2009 on the set of The Last Song.

"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they focus on themselves and careers".
