Another G.I. Joe spin-off film is on the way!

In this case, it's an ensemble film that, from the sounds of it, will introduce to cinema audiences characters like "Chuckles" who've yet to appear in any of the previous feature films based on the toy line. Joe movies did fairly well at the box office, earning $US678.2 million (unadjusted) combined. Channing Tatum made a brief appearance in the 2013 sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which mainly had Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at the forefront along with a pretty hefty cameo from Bruce Willis.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hasbro is developing a new G.I. Joe movie to theaters.

Additionally, another G.I. Joe spin-off, Snake Eyes, is set for an October 16, 2020, release date. Joe: Retaliation, though it appears he won't be reprising that role in what producer Lorenzo DiBonaventura described to /Film late a year ago as a Snake Eyes "origin story".

The new movie reportedly is being scripted by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, both writing alumni of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, as well as TV's Alias.

Presumably this new film with Chuckles et.al, will use the lessons learned on those first two films and apply them to a new story. A third instalment titled, "G.I".

THR broke the news, reporting that although Chuckles - who is known for undercover and infiltration work - will not be the sole primary character in the movie, the project is still in its early stages and things could change down the track.
