The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their family on economy airline FlyBe for a flight from Norwich in eastern England to Aberdeen on Scotland's east coast.

A friend of Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has defended Prince Harry's wife in a post on Instagram, calling out the "racist bullies" who criticize her, following years of "undeserved hate and abuse". When I visited the women earlier this year I was struck by how the baking, itself, is a means of therapy for these women - which in many ways makes complete sense - feeling they had no control over their lives based on their previous (and often harrowing) circumstances, they found comfort in the measured nature of baking.

The café and bakery helps women from disadvantaged backgrounds get their lives back on track by offering them employment, job skills, career support, mentoring and coaching. "They just seemed like a family travelling together to be honest", a passenger told The Sun.

Photos showed Prince William carrying bags across the tarmac before taking his seat on the plane for the one-hour and 15-minute flight. The gorgeous, carrot-flavored treat was enjoyed by the Sussex family while they quietly celebrated in Frogmore Cottage.

The family's trip comes days after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's seaside vacation in Nice in the south of France with their 3-month-old son, Archie.

He wrote in a post shared on his Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts: "I am deeply distressed by today's distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's private stay at my home in Nice last week". From Elton John to Ellen DeGeneres to Meghan's best friend Jessica Mulroney, the celebs slammed trolls.

In that light, the Cambridges' decision to fly budget to Scotland was always going to be framed as a deliberate rebuke to Meghan and Harry.

For more than 150 years, the Scottish castle has served as a private retreat for the British royals.
